Article 2 — Nature of Louis Group and Independence of Its Member Entities
"Louis Group" (萬國萬佳法律顧問集團) is a network brand made up of independent practising entities. Louis Group itself is not a legal person or legal entity of any kind; it does not practise law, does not provide legal services, and does not enter into any engagement with any person. The "Louis Group" name and the related international trademarks are currently owned by Raymond Yu, attorney-at-law (俞伯璋律師).
The members of the network are independent entities, each established under the laws of its own jurisdiction and licensed under local regulations, including but not limited to:
- Louis & Charles Attorneys at Law (Taiwan)
- Louis International Patent Office (Taiwan)
- Louis Land Registration Agent Office (Taiwan)
- Louis & Partners Thailand (Thailand)
- Louis & Partners Vietnam (Vietnam)
- Louis Asset Consulting (Taiwan)
- Startboard (Taiwan)
Each member entity:
- is solely responsible for the services it provides;
- is not responsible for the acts or omissions of any other member entity by reason of the network relationship;
- is not the agent, partner, or employee of any other member entity; and
- forms its own independent engagement with its own clients.
Terms such as "group", "we", "our team", and "offices" used on the Site describe the collective capabilities of the network and must not be construed as meaning that the member entities constitute a single legal entity, a partnership, or a relationship of joint and several liability.
Article 3 — Nature of the Information
The content of the Site — including without limitation legal insights, articles, case notes, regulatory updates, FAQs, and charts — is general legal information provided for reference only.
The content of the Site:
- does not constitute legal advice on any specific matter;
- does not take into account the facts, background, business objectives, or risk tolerance of any particular person or business; and
- must not be relied upon as the basis for making, or refraining from making, any decision.
No one should act or refrain from acting on the basis of the Site’s content alone. For specific matters, you should engage a lawyer qualified in the relevant jurisdiction to advise on the facts of your case.
Article 4 — No Attorney–Client Relationship
Browsing the Site, reading or downloading its content, contacting the Firm through the Site’s contact form or the email addresses shown on it, subscribing to the Firm’s publications, or attending the Firm’s events does not create an attorney–client relationship.
An engagement between the Firm and a client is formed only after both parties have signed a written engagement agreement and the Firm has completed its conflict-of-interest check and confirmed its acceptance of the engagement.
Before an engagement is formed, the Firm assumes no obligation, by reason of receiving any message, to act for, advise, or protect the interests of any person.
Article 5 — Do Not Send Confidential Information
Until an engagement is formally established, please do not send confidential or sensitive information through the Site’s contact form, by email, or through any other channel.
Information sent before an engagement is established:
- may not be protected by attorney–client privilege;
- cannot be guaranteed confidential by the Firm; and
- if the Firm already represents a party whose position is adverse to yours, the Firm has no obligation, and may not be permitted, to keep such information confidential, and its receipt shall not constitute grounds preventing the Firm from continuing to represent that party.
